My local town just had their yearly electronics clean up day. What this means to me is that tons of 19 inch tvs all sitting in one spot for me to stop by and pick up.

I was able to scavange about 15 sets that are perfect for tube swaps. I now have a stock of almost 30 burn free tubes for arcade monitors.

good day for arcade collecting.

I currently have 5 or 6 working 19" TV's that I've accumulated in the last few months of scrapping. To be honest, I leave them at the curb when I see them now as I'm out of space.

If anyone in Orlando wants a free 19" TV or two, please contact me as I can always find more :).

I just picked up a few 13'' and 19'' tv's for free and was wondering if any of you guys have a link to a tutorial of how to use these as a game monitor. i have never done a tv to game swap and would love to learn. My main thing is how to splice all of the harnesses into the chassis and at what locations.

yes,i got 30 tubes now, just waiting for next time so i can carry another 50 home and turn my home into a big f'ng tv thingy!

jeez!
:p

Most people just use the tube itself and transplant that into a monitor that has a bad tube/or a good tube with bad burn in. While its not hard, its not a beginner's type project either.

I would love some compatible tubes for my redtent!! I work in the alleys of Gary, IN where people dump everything from couches to TV's everywhere. I would be sitting on an abundance of tubes if it wasn't for the bums and scrap guys breaking the necks off of all of them.

My town has a recycling day, but it's drop off style and you're forbidden to pick from the pile. They pallet and shrink wrap it as it's coming in the lot.

Too bad, I'd rather reuse something that already has manufacturing equity in it, then see even more energy expended recycling it.

Our local one is like that too. They moved it to a fenced-in area and added an attendant. No more free TV's. :(
