Ok, So I am the kind of guy that reads all the warning labels and heeds the X-Ray message warnings printed on the backs of CRT monitors and their respective schematics. I just responded to some guy on ebay selling games that just swaps out 19" arcade monitor chassis and fits them onto any 19" arcade CRT that performs the best!!! What!?? Is it me or are those warnings on there for a reason? This guy may be progressively injuring the people that he sells his stuff to. What is up with that a once respected electronic technician profession turned back yard make a quick buck part swapper (potentially at the expense of someones health). I made him aware that he could be causing himself or other people harm so he may think twice about what he is doing in the future. I may be over reacting and if so please advise. Most of these monitors are the same shape and probably have the same pin configuration on the neck. Hell maybe I could be playing willy nilly with X-rays also!! :(

As long as he is using the proper yoke with the chassis, the tube can be swapped without worrying about X-rays.

Now, if he just sticks a chassis onto a TV tube/yoke to see if it works, then keeps it there if it looks okay, then it's possible that the image will be less-than-perfect, but I doubt you'd get an x-ray issue unless the chassis wasn't operating properly...
