So.. I picked up one of my Favorite games, Crossbow, from this forum actually. Somewhere en route the shipping company smashed it up a bit. I will say they were real good about it. I sent them a list of materials and a labor estimate for repairs, and they cut me a check faster than I would have thought. It took a little work, but I have it all back together and playing. A little disappointed with the CP overlay and vinyl sides. I've learned that sealing the entire cab is just something you have to do to get this stuff to stick properly. I actually added contact cement to the second side, and had MUCH better results. As it sits now, I could really rip the CP overlay off and redo it, but I just want to play some crossbow for now. Most people wouldn't really notice the issues, but my OCD no likey.. pics of progress to follow

Here's the shipping damage. The delivery guy was all surprised, but clearly the wrapping was busted by something, and underneath that was a damaged cab.. Split the sides apart, took chunks out of both side, and knocked off intrusion switch.

After removing innards I laid this beast down to see what was going on underneath. Just from moving it around I knew it was sketchy at best. The feet were ripped off, and there was some patching done at some point. Better to just remove the whole thing and start over. 3" screws sicking through everywhere!

Removing the scuffed up sides, and getting ready to do some repairs. CP was coming apart so I put some gorilla glue in the seam and clamped it.

Particle Board just sucks. I don't even want to guess at what this thing weighs, but it is a biatch to move. So I decided to put wheels on it. I used 7ply birch for the replacement. It is super solid now!

As I mentioned above, I learned that so matter how much time you take cleaning the sides and getting them ready for adhesive, you are just wasting time if you don't seal the cab or add contact cement. I wasted $80 worth of side vinyl, and still had to end up using low heat gun and a ton of time dealing with place not sticking. Also ended up applying contact cement after the fact on edges that just would stay down. Pissed me off for a minute or two.. In the end, it came out okay.

looks very good to me, if you don't mind me asking which or what kind of black vinyl did you use on this?
and did you get the cpo & sideart from TOG?

Looks great man! I'm jonesin' for an Exidy shooter. Did you find the Multi Exidy for it??

From everything I've read on here with people using vinyl, I will never even attempt it. Laminate is the way to go. So much simpler to prep and install.

Dont shoot your friends!!!!!

Awesome man looks great..xbow is my favorite game well.. definitly get the multi if you can find one. Your wood stock looks in excellent condition. Wood stock is where it's at. The wood stock makes the whole game...

Great looking game. Why does your side art have a white border around it?

https://quarterarcade.com/black-vinyl-morocco-style-4479 that's the vinyl I bought. It was a pita for sure, but rolling on contact cement was best solution. Laminate would have been cool and easy, but then the thickness would have been way off. As it is this cab is old and a little swollen so the t molding doesn't quite cover edges. I had to use a black sharpie to help hide the wood showing. I got the CPO from game on graphics as mentioned above.http://www.gameongrafix.com/index.php?search[mode]=any&search[terms]=crossbow No multi game just a dedicated Crossbow. And yeah.. the wood stock was in great shape! In fact the only thing wrong with the crossbow is two galvanized bolts on the front. I could have fixed that, but I really wanted to just get it together and shoot stuff. Bezel and marquee are original as far as I can tell. They aren't perfect, but that is fine by me. The only other thing I could really do is swap out the inner bezel. It is old cardboard bezel, and it is in poor condition.
