Crossbow Recommendation?

maybe i'm mistaken, but this includes the actual boardset also correct? what i mean is, do i need an existing Exidy boardset and this is the add-on?

just clearing up for me cause haven't been on thread long discussing this!

thanks

Yeah man, thats what i think this is... My only questin is, what set do you need?? a crossbow, cheyenne, combat, ect.. all these boards are different with different chips and resistors and such!@!!!

Are these still available for pre-order or am I ass-out? I still don't have a cab, but I am seriously considering a purchase regardless.

yeah i didn't know that then....i thought that's what they ordered was the blank boardsets.

ok, so maybe someone could clear up what we need then???

From my understandment you can use any Exidy 440 pcb (all the examples from the previous post) and add this "daughter" card. There will be dips to tell it which pcb it is.

I'm 99% sure this is a board that adds on to an original exidy 440 board set to allow you to play the full list of games rather than just the single game that your original board set is. I believe this add on works with either all or almost all original Exidy 440 shooter boards including crossbow, cheyenne, chiller and the others that are listed as games that are playable on the multi game list. You do need an original 440 board set for this to work though.

Off the top of my head I believe when you install the add on board there is a dip switch on the board that you need to set that lets the add on board know which original board it is connected to. This must make a difference. As for selecting which game you wish to play once the multi game is installed, there is an onscreen menu with the game titles and you aim and shoot the one you want to choose to play. Might be wrong but I thought there was a mention of slightly changing the menu. I think it will still basically work the same way though even if they do change something a bit.

Scroll down on this page and it shows a pic of the selection screen

One of the neat features of the kit is that you *shoot* the title you want to play.

Here's the FAQ:

Here's the current project blog for this build:

I have to emphasize again, this is a one time build. After a build up of demand over a couple of years, we're going to build what we have orders for. There won't be a second run, or kits available down the road.

Mike,
Can you set the game to always start on one game or will it always start to the menu. I'd kind of like it to start on the same game. I read the FAQ but that wasn't clear. And of course, thanks for doing this kit!

Exidy PCBs in fab!

As of this morning at 4:30 AM, the last layout revision completed testing and they've been ordered and are shipping via UPS Next Day Air to arrive on 12/31.

Here's the excerpt from the confirmation email:

"Your order was quoted by the PCB layout program as requiring 10 full business days for manufacturing. The shipping method for your order is Next Day Air which takes 1 business day.
Your order was received on Monday before our 2PM ET deadline. Adding on the 11 business days results in an on-time delivery date of Thursday, 12/31/2009 and should arrive before 12 noon.
With every order we ship an itemized invoice. In some cases, the invoice may be removed by your company's receiving department. In that case, this will serve as your receipt."

Everything else will be done and waiting for the PCB blanks to arrive, so I'll start off the New Year doing assembly and testing each day, and shipping everything that is completed the same day. Shipments will be in the order balances are received, there are a few that already paid in full, and those are already tee'd up in shipping order.

Lastly- if you've been under a rock and haven't sent in your t-shirt size, please do so!

Man, these guys have their crap together eh? Love all that detail. Wish all companies you purchase from provided that level of information.

Great news on the pcb's!
