I'm going to replace these on my new crossbow and was looking @ the ones for sale on mame marquees but the colors look odd. Has anyone seen these in person? I can reproduce them myself but that is going to be a hell of alot of work so if the repros are good I'd just as soon buy them. Opinions?

I have the CPO crossbow on mine (its the ultimate version) whenever you buy from their, make sure its the ultimate version spend the extra 10.00 for it, its well worth it.. The overlays have that rough feel to them!!and it is just like the original.. I intend to get the side art. I just havent yet!!

The side art is very close, but not a perfect match. I am fairly happy with it.

Won the auction!

Here are the pics -

Looks good but I wonder why the color of the background is so green as mine is very blue. I wonder if there were two types of art? or does your picture give me the wrong idea as far as color goes?

I have no idea if there were 2 types. I do know the pic doesn't lie. The background is green, not much blue. The castle is blue though...

Hi

The CPO that Mamemarquees makes is pretty decent... its just a little too brown. In actuality, the original CPO has a yellowish brown/ gold background. Their repro side art, though, is much too green on the background.

Attached are pictures of a NOS CPO with yellow brick background, NOS CPO with ALL brown background and a piece of NOS side art. The yellow brick version is textured, the all brown is smooth.

You can compare these to the mamemarquees pieces posted above. I would definitely use their CPO, but the side art I would pass.

PeRfiDeOuS and I are trying to do reproduction silk screened side art and CPOs for Crossbow. We've been talking about it for a few months. We just need to find the right person or place to do it. I have the NOS pieces to contribute.

Since I'm not in a huge hurry I think I'll wait for you guys then. The art on my crossbow though damaged is not all that bad. I'd help you with the silkscreening but I stopped doing that at my shop about 5 years ago.

Well I decided not to wait so now I'm almost done vectorizing the sideart and I've pantone matched the colors off the art on my cabinet. Since I have a nice solvent inkjet I'm going to print some myself and I'll be doing a test print in the next few days. Teaser below.

The CPO art is a whole different animal and will be much more difficult as it is all composed of old time line screen fills. I probably will take a crack at it but at this point I'm not sure what the results will be. I'm guessing it will have to be redrawn by hand and then rescreened just like the original was but instead of using a line screen film I'll do it on the computer. To get the same feel is going to be real tricky but worth a try.

Ok guys I'll let you know. It's almost done and I'm painstakingly working on reproducing the screened back blue for the castle, spider, ect right now. I should be done in the next day or so.
