Creature of the Black Lagoon - Hologram Replacement?

We've got one in the shop that has had something happen to the hologram (heat or cleaning) that makes it almost impossible to see - even in bright light.

Anyone have a source for a replacement, or possibly one saved from a parted out game?

Good luck, and open your wallet. Very few ever pop up, and usually get into the $500-$750 range without batting an eyelid on e-bay.

There's always rumors about new ones being made, but total vaporware so far.

Illinois Pinball was the only one to repro that and that was a major catastrophe. Search RGP for the horror stories. IF you can find one be prepared to spend ~$600 on it.

recently a NOS one sold for over $900, Brian (gamestencils) did a green LED kit that helped with older holograms might be worth asking him

Just hold out until the new reproductions come out. They are scheduled to be out by year end. The IPB reproduction licensed ones had issues. Do not buy the IPB ones. The IPB ones were not made by IPB. They were only licensed by IPB. They were made by a guy in Ohio. The new reproduction ones coming out use a different process than the IPB ones so they should be more reliable. If you can find a NOS original they sell be big money. Just wait for the new ones. The hologram has nothing to do with game play anyways.

theres a bright light in the BACK of the cabinet that shines through a small "tunnel" and that light hits a mirror that moves from side to side. that mirror shines the light on the hologram under the playfield which you can see through the playfield teardrop plastic.

then behind the hologram is a small motor that moves and it makes it look like the creatures hand is swinging out at you

those holograms are expensive i saw the one on ebay go for OVER 900$. i thought i saw someone post on here that steve young had some left........i might be wrong, and if he had them they might be gone by now
