creature from black lagoon hologram stopped working!

anyone know hwo to fix a creature holorgram that stopped working? ive played over 100 games on it since i bought it and it worked every time. now today it stopped on me? anyoen else have this problem? its weird becasue it was working yesterday, and the day before, and the day before

i just tried it in test mode and everything works like normal. it says lamp on and motor on and it works like normal. but i tried it 3 or 4 times in normal gameplay and it wont work? i visually looked at all fuses in the game and they all looked good and i reseated the connectors coming from the motor? any help/ideas?
thanks

You can't visually check fuses, you have to pull and check with a meter.

Though probably not your problem if it works in test.

Be sure in adjustments that there isn't something to disable it that has been changed.

Be sure anything socketed on the CPU is in tight.

If all else fails try a factory reset to clear garbage out of memory - you will lose audits, scores, and any custom adjustments you made.
LTG :)

Cold solder joint at the coil or the driver board? A driver transistor on the driver board on the way out? The motor(S) is/are dying? Cold solder joints on the triac board that drives the motors?

Not too many things in that chain, you should be able to narrow it down quickly...

Is the feature that makes the hologram work working? I'm not really familiar with that game but I've fixed games where the person claimed that a mechanism wasn't working and the problem was actually with a switch that triggered that feature so the game never tried to energize the mechanism. If the mechanism works in test and not during the game that's what I would look at first.

Just a thought :)

im going to try and reset everything first here through the settings. (im somewhat new to repairing games, i have fixed a few things but this is a bigger problem than most everything else i have fixed so far) so i think i can handle resetting it.
now........
call me an idiot...i know......but when you say a "cold solder joint" do you mean a solder joint that has come apart?
and if i use a multimeter to test a fuse holder without the fuse in it, will it still show a reading?

i might go mess with the game tonite if not tomarow morning early

A cold solder joint is a bad solder joint that needs to be reflowed/resoldered. You don't check the fuse holder with a DMM, but the actual fuse instead *I think you misread*.

Lastly: I am almost 99% positive that Lindsey *excuse me bro if I mispelled* is dead on with this. If it works in test than more than likely that is not your problem. So start checking the switches/things that actuate the hologram.

ok......i went to mess with this game about ten minutes ago AND...............you will probably have to be familiar with this game to know what im talking about.....the game is playign differently now regarding the hologram

first i did a factory reset like the one guy said and now all the music plays differently.

BEFORE THE HOLOGRAM BROKE, the hologram would turn on and be running the entire time after you shot the ball up to begin multiball. it would then turn off after you lost one of the balls in multiball

NOW (after i messed with the one switch in the subway plastic under the playfield) during multiball the hologram is NOT on, but during multiball you are supposed to "search for the girl" in 3 different areas of the playfield. when you find the "cave" the girl is in THEN NOW the hologram turns on and moves for a little bit until you try to rescue her (shoot for the snack bar) and it will turn off if you lose a ball while trying to rescue her

MY QUESTION TO YOU PINHEADS IS...........was it working right the first time by always being on in multiball or is it working correctly now as it should? if you familiar with this machine you should know how it works the RIGHT way

i think what the problem was, was that there was a ball stuck in the subway plastic under the playfield and when i lifted the playfield up the ball went backwards on the path its supposed to take and bent the switch a small amount.

I haven't played Creech for awhile but I think that's right. Holo comes on when you find the girl. Sounds like you have it fixed.
