I have a Crazy Taxi and I cant track this down in the schematics.

one of the transformers has a pink/blue plug.

in the same area is the only plug with the male side of that plug from the transformer.

BUT. it was unplugged when i got it. the game works fine.

i was in there trying to fix the caps on the low pass amp because the sub isnt working etc and got curious. any help would be appreciated!

I see two 3p connectors male and female in pic. Its supplying AC to transformer for amplifier. Not sure what you see there but its pretty obvious. In this pic, you have no AC to amplifier transformer so you would have no sound. I can't imagine sub amp would be working either since it slaves off main amp.

ok. i appreciate your input. i dont repair sega, so this is all new to me.

I got the machine, one of the speakers was blown, the sub was blown and not working.

i replaced w a recommendation i found, wired it and tested it and it works fine, just no sound coming from the game.

i also have cap issues on the sub boards, as shown in pics.

so my assumption is the previous owner had issues and unplugged it.

i ordered replacement caps, and will plug this 3p in once that's done.

I would connect the power to XFMR so you get power to amp and retest from there. Super rare to lose caps on the little sub amp but then again I always regret saying that regarding Sega stuff as they start failing. Main amp looks pretty dirty. Definitely clean it up and make sure no corrosion. Recap never hurts since these are 25 years old now. If no go still, the low level outs from Naomi are just RCA so you could pump that into any stereo amp just to get sound and you can be as creative as you want from there.

ok im looking at the schematics and i see that the rectifier board connects to the amp at cn2 area and plug 4 should be empty, white and green should be on 3 and 5 on the amp. but im seeing it occupied in 4 in my pic here.

is that a problemo u think?

Its kind of a weird set up. You have only shown a power adapter (green) feeding power to sub amp (brown). Still no pics of main amp. I am thinking at this point it would be good for you to email me pics of that whole area around Naomi as well as call is if you are in US. PM me and I can give you contact info.

Appreciate the assistance everyone.

Small green board is the rectifier board. Brown is low pass amp for the sub.

Main amp is great. Sub just wasnt working. Sub itself was fried and all the foam gone from it, so I replaced it with a shallow 10" as per recs on this and other threads.

What i thought was goobers from busted caps on low pass boards was just silicon to hold them steady.

Upon further inspection, low pass amp was shot. Under the board it was jumped with some goofball wiring.

Instead of messing around getting old stuff to work i just bought a powered sub amp for $40.

What was confusing me the most was that the RCA sub out line was a bit more complex than what Im used to seeing. So I just unplugged it and used third party stuff.

I had to take the red/grey out of the molex that connects to CN2 on low pass as those are the speaker wires. i then unplugged rectifier and removed low pass sub completely and mounted my new one in there.

Works like a charm now!
