Ok Here is a monitor issue that is stumping me so I must consult you guys with more experience. I have posted a picture of the problem below. This problem is minor, but just from the looks of it, I would like to be able to diagnose monitor problems so when I purchase games at a cheap cost, I can diagnose and fix them myself. Anyways here is the information:

Model: ATI CR-M-19VH
Caps replaced: Unknown

Tried adjusting most everything except the B+ voltage. No fix. As you can see, the monitor looks great, except for the tiny skew of the girders on the lower left side. Do you see it? My compulsive behavior gets the best of me when I play this game and I would like to know where to start to fix the problem. Cap kit? If so, then this would be a shotgun method. If anyone has the cap kit nailed down to this monitor model, then let me know. I have not found one. Through my research I do not know if Bob Roberts does by now either. If you guys want me to do the cap kit on this, and then post the values on here afterwards I will. i will also send this information to Bob so he can put one for this model together if he has not done so by now. Let me know your thoughts this one has me stumped and that is kind of a rare occasion.

we need a pic of the chassis to know more.

a cap kit is a must and if one does not exist then you will have to rite down the cap values and order a custom kit.

i should have all the caps for a kit but i would need a list.

yea never seen one like that.

looks to be a build your own cap kit.

they look old and i would replace them if i had that chassis.

So you think this symptom is a cap for sure? I guess we need to start there huh? The picture I showed you was another thread with a picture of the same kind of chassis. It was not mine. Mine is cleaner actually. This seems to be an oddball one.

caps are always the first thing to replace on any monitor over 20-30 years old.

you need a known starting point to work from.

cap it and give it a good re-flow before anything else.

if it still needs work then we can try and point you in the rite direction with
a known problem and schematics to work from.

Ok Then, I will do the research and recap it. May take a while to figure out all the values.

Should I send my findings to Bob Roberts so that he can start making cap kits for this model?

This seems to be a rare/weird chassis made by ATI that seems to be popping up in really earl 80's games. The chassis is not marked at all.

Had to do some research. I will keep you posted on the progress.

Thanks.

you can send them to me if you want.

my caps are HQ caps.
it will cost more but you get better quality.

Ok I will let you know when I find the values of them all. I should be able to maybe figure this out by not pulling them and just read what is written on the side. We shall see. Stay tuned.
