Crazy Kong cabaret

@CharlieG texted me a photo of this earlier this week and i was excited to see it. You guys have covered it pretty well. Those stickers seemingly came with the boards after Nintendo put out the ad @SNESNESCUBE64 posted. The history of Donkey Kong and Crazy Kong is fascinating stuff. Even going back to the multiple legal cases with Ikegami Tsushinki and then Universal Pictures. Some of the Ikegami Tsushinki stuff has never been translated from Japanese to English and i think there is a lot to mine if someone with time and good research skills wanted to do a book or film. The Universal stuff played into the role of KING KONG entering the public domain which is also fascinating and a long story.

All that said, If you know me you know i love me some Crazy Kong variants and collect cabarets. So this was right up my alley. I had never seen this cabinet before and its neat to see some other games in that form factor too. I hope you don't take it apart for another game, or swap that control panel. Its all part of the story of this game and should be preserved. Im glad someone on KLOV found it, even if it wasn't me. But if you need a good home for it.

also you should for sure post these photos and a link to this thread for posterity over here https://forums.arcade-museum.com/th...rt-package-before.497195/page-12#post-4763536

I was saying the same thing to Todd the day I got it after I found the sticker and heard the story from the lady, that It would be a shame to do anything to a cab that is a part of Nintendo weird dk history other then enjoy It.

I'm not a huge dk fan, so I can honestly say it probly won't stay in my collection long as I have limited space. If I had more space I would probly keep it for the history part of it... We will see but I will keep you in mind.

I found a post on Facebook for a cabaret playing Dk

it looked bootleg and I have been hunting for a home for a mikie PCB. So I message the lady who sold it to me and she was more then happy to tell it's backstory. Her father, a youth pastor had gotten it back in Ohio when she was a kid and it had traveled to 3 states before ending up in Florida.

I thru it in my jeep and brought it home and when I got it inside that's when I noticed the officially license Nintendo sticker.

Well that just dashed all my plans of finding a home for Mikie.
