Does anyone have a picture of a working Crazy Kong (Alca) board?

I got a board off of eBay, was supposed to be a Faclon version missing a chip... ran a few romIdents and it's actually an Alca version, but the board was missing a chip... I found 2 bad EPROMs CK3, and CK4... I'm sure they weren't helping the board at all (was non-working), but there's still that missing chip in where (I'd imagine) CK12.bin would go... but then I checked 13 and 14, and they ended up being 12 and 13... Is that empty spot supposed to be there?

Also there are some jumper wires on the back of the board... I think 1 of them is to allow the use of 2532's in place of 2516's, but again... I'm not sure.

I can't find a friggin' thing on this board online, the only thing I can find is the Falcon version, which I already have... so that helps me out -none- with this Alca version.

Any pics or help would be dandy... Thank you.

There are four different pics on the Crazy Kong website. Maybe one of them is what you are looking for.

Yeah, the board is pictured there... but that still means the MAME romset is missing 1 more file than I thought it was. There are 12 ROMs in the file, but 14 chips on the board... Ugggg...

Nothing is ever easy is it...

Thanks for the pictures link though, I forget that crazykong.com has those.

This is a RomIdent log of my chips... 3 and 4 have been fixed.

12 and 13 are in the spots for 13 and 14 (comparing it to my Falcon board... same layout). 13 isn't even in the mame romset, and if it was, there would still be a missing ROM for 14! Ugggg...

If you read the narrative, I have a similar shaped monkey donkey (Same as Alca in operation)

I will look now if it's the same if you like

I haven't dumped the ROM's yet, but I have a board with Falcon logos, Falcon pinout, and all the ROM's have Falcon logos on the masks, but it's running something very close to that Alca bootleg as it plays in MAME. It's missing a ladder on the 2nd row on the barrel board though, so it's not exact. It's also missing a ROM, where position 14 should be. When I got it, I figured it was missing that ROM, so I had one burned (but had no way to test the board at the time). When I finally got it hooked up, I discovered it didn't even use that ROM. Does your board run at all? I'm including a pic of my board, and a couple screenshots. (which I've posted before in another thread). I also have another board almost identical, except it has no Falcon logos, no dipswitches, has all the ROM's populated, and is running Falcon Crazy Kong Part 2.

Unfortunately, neither of my boards are running, not the Falcon and not the Alca. The Falcon is the closest one as it runs with missing graphics, video glitches, and audio glitches... The Alca version is dead as a door knob.

Under (around) what would be chip 14 on the Alca board there are 3 ram in place of what are (I believe) 3 proms on the Falcon board... so... I'm not sure what kind of shenanigans the previous owner was try'ng with that board...

I know, old thread, but I just bought a CK board from RareHero that's an Orca 2-board set, but when I hooked it up, it's actually running the Alca version.
It looks like the board in this pic (including the little add-on board in the Z80 slot)

Incidentally, I did finally dump the ROM's on that Falcon FCK-01 board I have. All of the ROM's matched up with the Alca version except for #10 and #12. #10 didn't match with anything (it's the one with the missing ladder on the barrel board, verified by putting it on a board running Falcon CK Pt 2, and it made the ladder disappear on that too). #12 matched up with some sets, just not the Alca one. Did you try putting 13 and 14 in what would be 12 and 13? That's how my Falcon board (with the odd Alca type version) has them installed, with #14 being empty.

Clever!

There are a few modded Ck's around

Pity though, when you buy an orca, I guess you want an orca

I have a few orcas (same as pic - except the satellite board)

Need anything?
