I picked up a 1 slot neo geo mvs in a 25" dynamo cab today. I get it home and plug it in and see this. I tried to adjust a few knobs with no change. The monitor is a Philips mo8x. Im still Fairly new to this so any help would be much appreciated!

I'd first inspect the yoke/rings on the back of the tube to make sure they're still attached/tight. Was it fine when you picked it up?

It was fine before I got there but after he dollied it to his porch this happened. Is there a degause button in a dynamo cab?

How do I go about checking/adjusting the yoke? I think that is the problem. I've adjusted all the pots and reseated all the monitor harnesses and still nothing. Here are some more pics.

I can't tell from the pic, but is the yoke pushed up all the way against the rubber pieces in front of it? And if you try to wiggle it, does it move? Of course do this with the monitor off. The rings relative to the yoke looks fine, but I can't see the yoke relative to the tube.

The geometry of the monitor doesn't look too bad, so the yoke might actually be right. Don't move the rings much (you can make it MUCH worse), but try wiggling them and see if they move freely or not (if so, look for a line of glue/paint and try to match it up close to how it used to be, then tweak it until it looks good).

You could also just need a manual degauss with a coil, but I really doubt it unless you transported it with magnets all over the screen.

Well I tried to degauss it last night and no big change. What part is the yoke? This is driving me crazy!!!

The yoke is that big coil of wire on the neck of the picture tube. See if it's loose. If it slipped back on the tube, then you will lose purity big time. If it's loose, push it up towards the rubber wedges on the bell of the tube.

I dont know what happened but now im hearing little pops or clicks from the chassis. It sounds to me lke its arcing. Could this be the cause of my color problem?

After some more peeking around I found what looks like cracks on the flyback. Could that be the problem?

probhably not, but id still replace it because it might crack soon..

find the degauss coil on the tube and unplug it. if the issue goes away your degauss circuit is stuck on

if for some reason you give up on that monitor lmk as id be interested in the chassis as-is

Those early K7000 flybacks are junk. The ones with the white knobs always fail like that. Replace it before it blows.

As for the color problem... I still think you just need to adjust the yoke. It's *real* hard to bend the shadow mask in the tube, you have to seriously bang it. Moving the game won't do that. The degauss circuit could be faulty, but if it's stuck on, it'll just keep shimmying, the colors won't be static. Disconnect the degauss coil and use a hand-held unit if you want to be doubly sure.

I still think the yoke slid back on the tube.
