I just watched a Crazy Climber boardset close on ebay for $189.00,my budget crapped out around $100.00.So if this is the kind of money they draw i figure fixing mine is the way to go.
I have 2 boardsets , one has no roms and the other one, the bottom board does have 6-MB8516's on it.Both top boards seem to be strapped for 2732's.I see no strapping for the bottom boards,so 2716's must be the requirement.
What i don't get is these eproms,if a 2732 will hold 32kb and i have just 7-4kb files, seems to me they would all fit on one.Same for the bottom board,6-2kb files is only 12kb.What am i missing here? Why do i need so many chips? I only ask as with other games i have heard of people performing single rom hacks and such.Maybe i could save some dough and reduce the number of eproms needed .
Sorry if this was a silly question. It took me forever to figure the strapping out to know if i needed 2532 or 2732.Now that i got that under control my brain is fried.Off to ebay i go in search of a programmer, thats gonna hurt my head too.
Thanks all.

CC boards sets that are complete non working go on avarage between $75-$150 Tested/working sets fetch in the $150-$225 range. Repairs are a better option on these.

Thats what i realized today.I have been looking for a boardset in hopes that between the 3, i would have all the roms and whatever else i may need to get one set going. One set i have looks to have been a donor board at one time, but the other set is nice and clean,so i will focus on it.

On the EPROMs KB is KiloBITs, not KiloBYTEs. The file sizes you are looking at are in KiloBYTEs.

ie. a 2732 eprom has 32 Kbits = 4 Kbytes

That why the files are 4Kbytes in size.

Each file fills the entire eprom.

If you have 7 files, you need 7 eproms.

To fit all 7 files on ONE eprom, you would need a 32 KBYTE eprom = 27256

Clear as mud ? ;-)

Cheers,
Steph

So simple lol.Thank you.
Tonight is probably not the night to decide on a programmer, think i'll go read some threads on the subject.
