I just picked up a CC cabaret and today I decided to go ahead and recap the PCB (electrolytics). Most of the caps on the board were manufactured in 1977 !
I noticed that the larger board has two 5101's in sockets! I know in the pinball world these chips usually save high scores and configuration information. Is CC supposed to save high scores? I was under the impression that it normally didn't. Since configuration is setup by dip switches I'm wondering what these 5101's are doing. They commonly fail in pinballs so I'm wondering if it would be worth replacing them since they are socketed. But what will it accomplish?
Any other modifications or upgrades recommended with this board to ensure long life? It's currently running on a switching power supply.
There is also a "tilt" wire that was part of the connector with the power lines that is currently not connected. Where should this be installed? Was there a slam switch that is supposed to be mounted onto the coin door?
Anyone have a picture of what the original speaker cover looks like (below the coin box)? This game is missing the original cover.
This game also has some serious burn on the Electrohome monitor from a Keno game. So I'm looking for a clean 13" monitor replacement or 13" tube. Anyone have a GO7 or WG equivalent available or a reputable vendor to buy a new tube from? The 13" monitor in this game is an Electrohome G19 NMA VM model.
Thanks for the information.
