Well... finally finished this nightmare project. I think I have been doing this one on and off for about a year!
All in all I think it came out o.k. Funny, I don't even really like the game, and I don't especially care for cocktail games, but when I saw the state of disrepair I could not help myself. I re chromed the legs. The top glass was utterly destroyed by some fairly deep gouges ... I had it refinished to keep the black silk screen underneath. Replaced the instruction cards as the ones on the machine were completely bleached white. I re created the "start" arrow artwork with photoshop. I took the whole thing apart, sanded, used bondo to get the cabinet back into shape. It was pretty beat up with some large chunks missing from the body and the coin door was all but destroyed. Fixed the coin mech, got all the metal parts re powder coated by Cabs4pimps (member here). He did an excellent job and I highly recommend him.
Once the cabinet was sanded and re painted, I had to figure out how to replace the original "wood grain" laminate... I decided to try shelving paper from Home Depot. While it did not match the original wood grain to a tee, it certainly does the job.
All in all - I'm GLAD ITS DONE! Now I just have to find someone to give it home! I don't have room...
