Last Friday I picked up a Bally/Midway Crater Raider.
It was in great cosmetic condition but was not working. Well with the help of my friend Don1400 its back up and running. I also stripped down the control panel and gave it a deep cleaning and painted all the black parts black again. Here are some pics...

Bad ass. I don't think I've ever even heard of it, but that's a sweet control panel...

I played this for the first time just a couple weeks ago at Seawolf's house. MAME doesn't do it justice. If you should want to sell or trade it, keep me in mind. We could meet up at a Milwaukee auction. What games might you be interested in?

Crater Raider? That sure is a rare one.

Super cool stuff, super cool! Got any full-cabinet shots? :D

Here are some pics of the cabinet...

I never saw one of these, but I played this in MAME while just going through random games and wondered what kind of weird ass control setup the original must have.
Turns out, its not weird at all and looks like it'd be a blast with that layout.

Nice work, it looks beautiful! Cool to see something unusual being restored!

Thanks - it really is a fun game - and I absolutely love the projection type effect that Bally/Midway came up with. It makes it very fun to play. Gotta love the fact that Bally experimented with so many odd ideas to make games differently (I know other manufacturers did as well) but EDOT - Tron - Satan's Hollow (blacklight) Wacko - all cool stuff.

That's why mine never left my garage....I was going to put it in the realm and then when Seawolf showed up at my house I said, "Please take this......" He Did :)

Hey what about me? I had to help load and unload that beast too.
