I have a "treasure chest" crane machine that is broken. Every time you put a money in it the claw travels around the machine and resets not giving you a game. Sometime it also dose it on its own. I am geting error codes but I have no manual for the darn thing. There 4 digit codes displayed in pars of 2. Any help will be appreciated.
error code 1
19
95
error code 2
05
19

Sounds like something isnt calibrated right, therefore not reaching the home position it wants to.

Every one of these I operated that had this reset issue where due to one of 2 reasons:

1) Bad power supply (Most common)
2) Bad wire harness connection. (Rare, but happens)

If my memory serves me correctly, those are not error codes, rather mfg date & software version codes that appear upon start up.

Can anyone tell me which color wires go to the joystick and claw drop button? Mine has all of the wires cut.

These sound like Grayhound cranes. (which UnitedTextile had bought out)

That is correct.... 1995, etc, etc.
And it does sound like it's resetting.
Coin dropped, resets and send the claw through a home cycle and such.

Some information I gather a while back for the older Grayhounds - not the greatest copy for sure - but the test modes may be helpful if this is the right version of stuff. Not sure if "United's" cranes continued using Grayhound stuff for a little while there. (for the older ones anyways)

I had the same problem as moonstorm. My issue was the 5V wasn't high enough. There is a 5.25V test point on the board. I adjusted my voltage to 5.25V and that fixed the crane. That is until I tried to figure out which wires went to the joystick. I touched the w/y to black and let the magic smoke out of something. I still can't find what I burnt. The crane coins up and moves to center then counts down. The claw drops and comes back up. Then I get an alarm and error code 66 01. The crane doesn't go back home.

I looked at the grayhound machines. That's not what mine looks like. I looked at the pcbs on arcarc.xmission and my boards don't look anything like that. I think it's just an older version of UTF's treasure chest crane.

I have been meaning to post these up. I seem to be the only one with a copy of them.
Check out my thread I posted pictures with dip switch settings and error codes: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?p=1597816
