Called a guy on a Virtua Fighter 2 dedicated on CL. It was raining last night so we decide alright, ill pick it up today. Called him a little while ago to make sure the time was still good and got a line "I called the lady whose house its at to make sure the time was ok, and she told me she sold it last night!" After that hes trying to tell me about an auction he has for 7 more games coming up. Its kindve odd that hes listing the VF2 as "moving, need to get rid of" then has an auction for the other 7? Couldnt he have had the common decency to call me right away when he found out about it if that was the situation?

Interestingly enough, the CL ad is still up, phone number and all on my local CL. Am I crazy for thinking the VF2 may not exist and is just to advertise the guys auctions?

I cant imagine VF2 is a popular enough to advertise. In my area people were giving them away basically, hence how I got mine a few months back.

You are right. 1st email is a friendly email, 2nd is a advertisement.

Bet he dosnt know how much a computer nerd can find on the net in 15min w/ a phone number and first name...

The 7 games he wants to auction off are all classics,
Centipede
frogger
pacman
tempest
defender
robotron
Force factor

So who knows what his gig is. It just all smells fishy to me.

I'm starting to think everyone's mis-step in this scenario is calling to confirm the time for pick up when the time was already set. It seems like every time this happens, the seller uses that call as their "get out of deal for free" card.
