Hello all,

I was poking around Craigslist yesterday afternoon and came across a listing for a working SNK "Mechanized Attack" for $75. After some research I gave the number a call and talked with the owner. Deciding it was worth checking out I headed over with my almost 8 year old in tow.

It's got a bit of wear and tear and some burn in on the monitor but otherwise it worked and played fine. I made sure my son tried it for a while and he was all over it. With the help of two family members we had it loaded into my truck and we were on our way home.

I can't say it was something I had on my radar but my son is now the hero of the neighborhood. The kids are all blasting away happily and he's thrilled.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how you open the cabinet? The operation manual seems a bit thin on details regarding the drawer. I'm also trying to figure out where the volume pot is.

Thanks,

Jim

I can't help with what you're asking unfortunately but I am sure someone will. However, nice score and post some pics of that bad boy! I know I'd like to see it.

I thought you just reached down from the coin door and unlatched the bottom, but it's been a few years (or decades?) since I worked on one. I believe the only volume control is on the board itself. Lucky deal, great price.

Did you check on the very bottom under the red part for a key hole? I thought it was a lever, but I think it may have a standard cam lock.

Volume pot is on the main board, near the front, a bit up from the bottom. its hard to miss

Enjoy the game!

see picture three on this post. You can see what looks like a cam lock.
