I am still new to this and have been looking for a Revolution X arcade and I have found one locally for $250 but he said the cpu is fried. So, my question is: 1 does anyone have or know where I can get a cpu for this board, 2 he said it was an easy swap (is it?) and finally 3 in yours guys opinion is this a decent deal for this machine after investing in a new cpu? Any thoughts and ideas is much appreciated, thanks.

My only caution would be is if the CPU is not the issue, it could be a basket case.

$250 is a bit high, unless the cabinet is dedicated and otherwise flawless. Even then, I would say it's high.

Do a little research, find out what kind of CPU it uses and pick one up (most of the time they are pretty cheap) and then go install it. They generally are just in a socket and can be removed with a flat head screwdriver and installed by just pushing it in

if it then works, give him $250, or make a lower offer. If not, or he tries to raise the price because it works now, take your CPU and go home, lol

Be careful and pin him down. Some people don't know the difference between the CPU chip and the CPU board. They use the term interchangeably. That makes a huge difference financially though. A $10 chip vs a $100 board.

Thanks for the help guys and I guess I'll have to do some more interrogating and figure out whether it's the whole board or just the chip, and yes it is a dedicated cab and in great shape but it is only the 2 shooter and not the 3. Although it seems I'm pretty limited when it comes to arcades up here in the mid-west and shipping kills any possible deals I find. So if anyone could help me find a decent area 51 machine and a ultimate mortal kombat machine, I would really appreciate it. Again thanks for being so helpful. This is by far the best forum
