Hey folks,

If you're a ham radio operator, you'll find many years worth of 73 Magazine available online. I took a look through one tonight and found an article that explains how CPU interrupts work and thought you'd like it.

http://archive.org/download/73-magazine-1977-04/04_April_1977.pdf

Page 76 (or if you're using the Adobe page counter, it's 68/194)

Enjoy!

From how I think of it, a normal interrupt (INT) would be something like restarting an attract mode sequence. A Non maskable interrupt (NMI) gives priority to things like coin switch inputs.

Stay out of our Ham radio magazines :p

Look at PDF Page 36 ( mag page 41) it shows how to manually program a 82s23 prom :p

You aren't the only ham around here. :)

... and unlike you, I have a 1 x 3 call sign!

I chose to leave mine the way I first got it. None of this former this former that. It has always been and will be the same. I also took a class from Gordo (West) who kept his the same but I don't know if he had a choice. Ohh, I had to learn the code at 13 wpm to get my General not many today can do that :).

Same here...

That's the one I got back in '92... Technician Class. Now I'm a General Class operator.
