So I had bought this SF3 New Generation with a group of CPS2 games a while back, this one was claimed working but it came out of an Ops closet and hadn't been tested recently, so I get it home plug it in and nothing, did a little fiddling with wires, tried a different SCSI cable and power cable..nothing on the screen. CD-rom would spin up and I could hear the laser move. It was very quiet for such an old drive. So whatev, I figure the carts dead, great. I'm out on that one! Today I'm getting frisky with a non working CPS2 motherboard and figure I might as well try the CPS3 again as well. I cleaned up the edge connector (Didn't think that would work because it wasn't visibly dirty), opened the case and cleaned the board. BLAM WORKING 100% Just needed a cleaning. I seriously can't stand dead PCB's laying around. It kills me.
This game isn't my bag, but I paid a GOOD amount for it so I'm glad it's alive.

BTW: My CPS2 motherboard has some bloated caps on it, has anyone else seen this on these? I've run into these on my old iMac - some older PC mobos, etc, but never on a CPS2 board. CC5, CC7, CC11, CC15, and all 3 CCCX caps. I'm gonna have to find a place to buy these. 25v100uF and 16v220uf caps, little guys.
