I just got a Marvel Superheroes CPS2 blue board that had been phoenixed. When I install it and power on the cab I just get the solid green screen like it has suicided. I can install my other boards and they work just fine. Anyone seen one suicide after being phoenixed? Is there anything I could me missing?

Yes.

If you are sure you're getting good connectiongs between the A and B boards and there are no bent pins on the interconnects then disassemble the cart. Look next to where the old battery used to be and you'll find a small electrolytic capacitor next to the + battery terminal. With the POWER OFF, take a small screwdriver and short the leads of the capacitor together and count to 10.

Reassemble and try it again.

Sometimes the memory decryption table has junk in it and you just need to blank it out again. I've seen it a handful of times.

I believe I am getting a good connection. It is just this on board that I have issue with. The others all work fine. I will take it apart and give that a shot. Thanks!!

Always happy to help where I can. :D

I keep all my repair logs online too as folks find them helpful.

I always find myself reading your repair logs, imho one of the greatest resources on the web for getting an insight into different boards.

had the exact same thing happen when i converted a CPS2 to progear,Ended up leaving it overnight with the battery removed and the next morning it booted up fine.

Thanks man!

Always nice to know they are useful to folks :D

They also serve as a nice advertisement of what I can repair.
