I just had this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250622756428&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT arriving (much to late) from a guy saying that's working 100%. I just passed the 'test' and it's saying ok but all the graphics in the game are somehow "striped" on screen. I just have to believe that this guy sold me crap - the graphics within ebay are stolen from klov.com. anyone got some help on this ? he does not respond to any mails so far - not what I expect from a reasonable seller...

I would say it is probably a poor seating between the A board and the B board. Try pushing down on the A board while the game is turned on, and see if the graphics don't clear up when you apply pressure. I've had this happen as some A boards don't seem to like certain B boards. Either that or you have a bent pin on your A board. I have had that happen as well and cause the same error.

hi and thanks for your response. I just used the same a board as for vampire savior (progrear is a JAP version) which works like a charm. what area do I have to look for specific (as in your case) ?

I just pushed down on top of the B board with my palm and it would clear the graphics up. The bent pin I had was in the corner of one of the A boards. I have some games that work great on certain A boards, but not even turn on on other ones, and before anyone chimes in that well duh you're using the wrong region A board, this happens in to me when I'm using multiple green and blue A boards. You might want to try and find some of the clips that hold the boards together to provide for a better contact between the boards. Also, I've noticed that the internal posts in CPS-2 games break which means the PCB's inside might be off center and not give you the best connection between A and B board.

stripes down the screen is common for dirty connectors or it not touching correctly, give them a clean and then apply a little pressure with your palm like the other poster states.

Oliver

I cleaned all contacts and applied pressure to them - no change. I've attached a picture just to make sure you both had the same on screen as I do.

For me it seems like the first DIMM Bank is corrupt as it holds one part of the data (the "bad stripes") where as the other DIMM Bank is working (that's for the "good stripes").

Crack it open and take pics of the inside. This is the most commonly bootlegged CPS2 game. It should have either simms or eproms inside. If you have little daughterboards its a boot. Regardless, you should reseat every chip and/or simm inside to see if there is change. A corrupted or dirty \gfx rom has this effect. If you have a bad simm then you are SOL.

Yepp, there are 4 banks of DIMM's... BANK #1 with the bad ones, BANK #3 with the good ones. If I insert only DIMM 1, the parts (stripes) on screen which are shown are bad. If I just insert DIMM 3, the stripes shown on screen (the other half) are good.

That sucks man! I know that board didn't come cheap! Care to tell us who sold you the board so everyone else can avoid being ripped off?

true, true... it's ok selling such things "for parts" or "with graphics issue" but 100% working - and adding some faken/stolen images from a running game -> what a sucker - you'll find his id on the previous side.

Have you heard back from the guy. Maby it got damaged in shipping. I wouldn't slander him without hearing his side.

Yepp, sure... but no response to any mails since a week... and this issue will not
come from "shipping" or "installation". The board has been opened and chips/changed, soldered... whatsoever... It seems like dropped on ebay due to bad work done on the board and never got it working again.
