I have a Marvel Super Heroes cartridge that used to work, now it only comes up with a white screen at best. I have a X-Men Cartridge that works fine in the A board, so I know it's just this game. It seemed to be a little difficult in the past, like you had to get the board on a certain way for it to work. Any idea as to what might be wrong?

Did you change out the suicide battery? If not... that is your answer... the board has been likely been killed. You CAN fix the problem... though it requires sending the B-Board to someone to install a PHOENIXed version of your game.... which bypasses the suicide battery...

Basically the way it works is that the suicide battery maintains an encryption code that is used when the hardware boots. If the suicide battery dies, the encryption code is lost which prevents the hardware from booting. There is no way to recover the encryption code. There is no way to get your game back to the exact way it was. The only options (as stated above) are to trash the B-board or send it out to be Phoenixed. What they do when they Phoenix your board is they replace the chip(s) that require the encryption code to boot with one(s) that don't require that encryption key...

There are a couple of websites out there that explain things better. Try www.cps2shock.com to start.

PS: If you've not replaced your battery in your WORKING B-Boards, I'd highly recommend you learn the procedure and do it... ASAP.

Go ahead and open that case up and check the battery voltage. It could be something else but as stated already its probably dead.

I'm pretty new with a DMM, what setting would I use? My multimeter has a V setting with 2000mV, 200mV, 20, 200 on it. I assume black would go to the -, red to the +?

The battery is 3.6 volts so the 20v range would work fine.

Black to - and red to +

If you need the cart phoenixed, I do that as a service.

Well, I don't have my CPS2 machine anymore. I was looking to just get rid of this. I don't get any reading at all from the battery according to my DMM.
