I have a phoenixed super gem fighter that I recently purchased as 100% working that has some weird graphics issues. During character selections and the pre fight square off sequence all of the characters look good. As soon as the actual fight graphics start to ru about half of the characters are completely black and white while the other half of the characters are full color????

Can you open the cart and reseat chips in the mother board or the daughter card that will actually repair an issue like this? Never seen a CPS cart opened before so I am ignorant on this issue.

I've seen the graphics go weird when it's not completely seated on the A board. are you using the clips to hold them together?

Some general TS tips:

1. Make sure the top and bottom boards are seated properly.
2. Try the Top boad with a different Bottom board.
3. Open the Top Case, and reseat all the ROMS on the Rom board.
4. If the problem still persistes, then PM channelmanic, Mitsurugi-w, or mainman.

Thanks Tyranix so far no luck on 1 and 2. I'll move on to #3 now.

there aren't any bent pins in the connectors are there? I ask cause a lot of other people ask lol. never know :)

Open the case and take the board out. Then place it on the A board and make sure all 4 connectors are properly seated before testing it again. Sometimes the tabs on the inside of the lid pressing the board from the top break off, meaning the board isn't getting equal pressure when you're seating it.

Since I purchased this from Anthony I figured I better ask him to look at it before I start opening the game board. He's offered to check it out so I'm going to send it back to him before I do more damage trying to fix it.

I like dealing with people who stand by thier stuff; he's seems to be a really stand up guy.

Just for giggles, do a check on your power supply, make sure your +5 is doing 5.0v. Anything else might make for some wacky stuff sometimes. Also, i have some CPS2 boards that only behave with clips on as well.

Yeah, that is something to check. I think I bent a pin on a motherboard once while putting on a B-board.

Do you have any other B-boards that you could test with it? Hopefully it is an A-board problem, I think those are pretty cheap to get.
