If it works, then great. There have been many documented cases where it doesn't last very long. Can you post a Pic of what you are talking about. If it works 100% what is the problem with a slightly different part?
If you do some research there are a lot of threads on the arcade-projects forum about this:
*fixed* Chinese hack Forgotten Worlds conversion audio broken
Reference the eBay hack conversion thread: Here I picked up a forgotten worlds conversion from the eBay shop with the (cough) improvised audio sections. As expected the sound has stopped working properly. The attract mode sound effects work fine, but as soon as you coin up the audio stops...
I personally bought a couple for funsies. One worked fine for a few months until it didn't (see thread above) and another worked, but there were sound issues with muffled sounds
Let’s talk about the flood of Chinese CPS-1 conversions on ebay
So lately I’ve noticed a LOT of CPS1 conversions on eBay from China. These are obviously hack jobs, but some are rather interesting, sporting “reproduction” b-boards. The one I have pictured has a really janky re-cap of the audio section. How is it so many cps1 boards are in China? Any...
I got an exchange for the non-working one. The other I eventually just repaired by replacing the entire audio section from a donor board.
The point of me asking in your other thread about the boards is just to see if yours is also another example of a non-original audio section. Basically to let people know that's the risk of buying from these sources.
Again; if it works to your satisfaction, i'm happy for you. The truth is all CPS1 boards are sorta on borrowed time at this point, given the large number of A01 custom failures.
