CPS1-3 Price Guide - our collaborative opinion

I was going to bring that up. It would be easier to set a flat rate for a-boards. Set the price guide for b-board only. Then you can just add the flat price of the a-board to the b-board price when you make your deal to purchase.

Also, add SSF2: TB to the guide. It is missing.

yeah in my first post I put it at $160 - $250 range due to rarity

I already have a huge opinion about the cps2 prices which reflect A plus B board set while I think they should only reflect just the B board. I just woke up when I opened the list and overlooked that in the guide even though it was in big red font

I definitely agree. We could just reach a price range for a working A, then allow everyone to draw their own conclusions. Some deals are sweetened with the A board being included (Alpha/SSF2) and some the A has absolutely no bearing on anything (Super Turbo).

SSF2 Tournament is a weird one *for me* to gauge worth. It's cool and a bit rarer than normal SSF2, but it is just SSF2 with special link/networking capabilities. It isn't based on the more desirable game. *shrug*

It has a modified attract mode as well as the tournament brackets also. It
*requires* 4 pcbs linked to work in tournament mode. Won't even boot with less than four. It can be changed in the manager screen to play as the regular version but what fun is that?

It is rare though. The link pcbs are scarce. Also, of my two I have one yellow with a regular SSF2 sticker. My Blue one has a sticker that says Tournament Battle in yellow below the normal art. Easy to miss unless you look at it close up. Curious what stickers your two cases have, mainman?

Yeah,I have no idea on it either. And I would agree about making the prices for only the B boards. I see 90-95% of these boards for sale without the A board included,so it makes sense to change it.

yeah basically the A plus B needs to be dropped without deducting for the A board in the price and just list the B board prices. Since the list is a democracy among more people than me I can not just make such a big change even though I have been allowed access without the rest of the guys agreement.

my boards are grey and blue and both have stickers that say tournament battle.

removed the line about A+B pricing

added SSF2 TB (although i think it falls in a similar range and could have been bundled with SSF2T)

Deleted the prototype CPS2 board

Added a row for A Board pricing and just put in $30 - $50 as a place holder untill someone else has a stronger opinion on it or feels like we need a larger variance to cover US, JPN etc..

I adjusted a couple of prices cause I felt like they were a little high given that it would just be for B boards.

Let me know if you guys want a separate sheet for NAOMI and other boards.

If you want a price for the black boards I would say

Hyper Street Fighter II : The Anniversary Edition $270-$370

Mars Matrix (never seen this one)

Marvel Vs. Capcom : Clash of Super Heroes $110-$145 (not a dime a dozen but the most common all in one board)

Street Fighter Zero 3 $120-$160 (rare)

Giga Wing $150-$195 (rare)

Great Mahou Daisakusen / Dimahoo (never seen this one)

.

Btw way I can personally vouched that cadillacs and dino does sell at the price I quoted as I have sold one before and i am in the process of selling another.

Galum Pa! cps2 was a proto also

progear is marked a little low. usually sells over on shmups forum for about $350-400.

i've never seen a real one sell for less than $350. it's fairly common to see bootleg conversions sell for around $200 though.

Quiz & Dragons I have owned this game for some time and since it is japanese exclusive and reference japanese culture it is a novelty only worth owning if you are trying to complete your collection. it can not be phoenixed if it dies and it does have a suicide battery. $60-$100

You sure you meant Quiz and Dragons? I used to own the US release that was in the big light Grey Dash cases... all in english and much of the trivia was about US sports, US presidents and US movies. Seen a few over the years from various sellers on Ebay and they always hover around the 70-80 pricemark. Unless you are talking about the sequel, which unless my memory is shot there is one?

Oh and again, that price for Warzard/Red earth would only be true for either the Hispanic or Japanese releases. I had one of (supposedly) only 13 US "Red Earth" kits ever produced and which were released only to Capcom's Nickel City Arcades. The hispanic version is also called Red Earth as opposed to Warzard, but make no mistake that the US version is insanely rare. I sold it about 5 or 6 years ago for close to 700.00. Not sure if the seller still has it, or if it is even still alive or not, but I have thought often about buying it back from him.

Crap your right I am thinking of Quiz King of Fighters. But yeah I sill own Quiz & Dragons and yeah it still a novelty although a very rare one that as I stated, can not be phoenixed

I've only seen one on Ebay a couple years ago, so it does exist. I don't remember, unfortunately, how much it went for. :(

Odd this subject pops up today! I've owned a few Capcom CPS era games, love 'em now as I did when I was a kid!

Incase anyone is interested, I'm selling a working STRIDER pcb set for $200/shipped.

Looks like I'm right smack dab in the middle of your list's estimated value including my shipping, I saw one pop on ebay last week for $245/shipped so I figured price a bit lower than there.

I have a nice Ghoul's N Ghosts cabinet too, loved the artwork more than the Ghosts N Goblins and ran both boards with Strider and Bionic Commando.

Why are the CPS games so damn hard?! Are they all that way just quarter munching brutal death after death?

Cool. Neat job guys.

Don't forget to add prices for the CAPCOM CLASSICS games.

And, don't forget to add prices for the full kits and the partial kits.

:)

I'm guessing we're trying to keep this strictly CPS games. Classic Capcom games don't really fall in this category. It would end up being the ultimate Capcom price guide which isn't what this is about.

Also, I'd avoid trying to price kits or even partial kits as some of these games are rare enough as it is, trying to gauge how much original art is worth, depending on condition, etc. could just get a little out of hand.

There should be just like 10 CC boards you should care about. I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Kits? I'm pretty sure you can figure that out based on the PCB prices. It all depends on condition of the kit also... anyone can figure it out based on the PCB guide.
.... and I really don't know if there were like move stickers made for like Powered Gear etc...

Very true. Hell,I've never seen full or even partial kits for a majority of these games.
