A few of us got together and edited a spread sheet with all of the Capcom CPS1 CPS2 and CPS3 games with our suggested high and low prices for them.

Although there may be different ranges for CPS2 and CPS3 region differences, this should be reflected in the range of low/high prices.
Battery condition and also CPS3 cage options are also factored into the high end price of boards.
The only exception to this is the Asian version of 3rd Strike where it got it's own line because dead 3rd Strike carts are being revived.

Prices are for fully working and complete board sets. No art or kits are considered for these prices.

I want to thank eseyo1, sosage, gutsman004, Mitsurugi-w and mainman for their contributions to this guide.

Some have no listed price. We had no idea on where to price these because of how rare they are. Full cabinet prices were also not complete but you can all base it on the PCB price. It's incomplete because of the large variance depending on cab/conversion, condition, amount of art and how "original" the cab may be.

discussions, comments?

This is meant to be a living document so I can add these in. I had added the 1.5 Qsound units into the CPS1 section but I can put these into their own section.

Strider? Really? A local guy has been trying to sell a converted cab here for $100...

You better jump on that then. :)

The PCB alone is worth as shown in the guide. Search KLOV FS and see how much it's sold for in the past. Metahugh just sold a nice complete cab for about $450 I think. But I've seen the PCB and/or kit for $200+ here and on feeBay.

This is a good know/have guys. Since I'm on the hunt for a dynamo HS-1,2,or 5 cab myself. I can know what to offer or expect if said game is in it. Of course taking in consideration the condition and what not.

A bit off topic. In my area, arcade games are hard to come by. I'm looking at a dealer in RI. who is selling a dynamo in kind of ruff shape for about $300. Plus $210 shipping to my door. Should I go for something like this or wait around for a better deal or look else where?

auction expired but still can see what I'm talking about.

The seller is real good. My brother bought a dynamo HS-5 cab with MK1 in it a few years ago. It was over $600 I think with S&H then. But worth it.

Thanks for putting this together... curious though what you used as a reference/point for pricing this stuff? At a glance, I saw a few things that were spot on and also a few thing not quite in-line with what the current going rate for them is... then again, this could be the "klov" price guide. haha.

Particularly, I noticed Cads and Dino's, Ghouls n Ghosts and Third Strike were a little off on price.. Third Strike is actually right-on but there are a lot of factors that could well push it over the 500 mark. Battery status, Motherboard enclosure, artwork etc... Cadillacs and Dinosaurs is incredibly rare and I happened upon a box of them about a year ago and the dead boards were selling for 250-275 while the phoenixed boards easily saw 350. Same with Punisher... Ive recently seen phoenixed boards go for 2-250 no problem. Ghouls n' Ghosts is also selling these days for a minimum of 250.00 I would say, which sucks... I remember when it used to be waaay cheaper. Not sure when Strider got so expensive either... I sold mine a few years back for 75.00 and it took forever for anyone to jump on it.

Also, there is in some cases a vast difference in price for some games depending on region... maybe that should be implemented in? Asian/Hispanic CPS2 PCBs can be had for substantially less and I can think of quite a few other instances where the prices are different enough that it may warrant noting that delineation between region in the guide. Case in point, the price for the CPS2 Megaman 1 board is right on for a Japanese or Rental version, however I sold a very rare US version of it for substantially more. If people less knowledgeable about going prices for CPS stuff will be referencing this for sales like they do the neo-geo price guide, then I think it would be a really good idea to not only fine tune it but also regularly update it. In any case, thanks for posting this up.

What about super street fighter 2: the tournament battle. Those one fetch some major bucks.

I would put it at $160 - $250, all you are really buying is a sub board that differentiates it from a regular ssf2.

The black boards prices are hard to put a finger on because of their battery death liability for most of the community. But I would put them at the same price as their green and blue counter parts

I remember when I originally suggesting making a guide, some members did everything short of death threats to stop me.

I looked over you guys price list and I agree with everything except these games

Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, this game is beyond rare and I would rate it in the $200-$300 range

Punisher low should be $160 and high $250

Dynasty Wars I would put at $200 for a original

Knight of the Round high end I would put at $150

King of Dragon I would put at $75 - $110

Warriors of Fate I would put at $130 - $220

Armored Warriors high end I would put at $200

Sports Club high end I would put at $130

Pnickies does not exist outside of a proto board that may or may not still exist, the code hasn't even be leaked.

Galum Pa does not exist outside of a proto board that may or may not still exist, the code hasn't even be leaked.

Muscle Bomber Duo : Heat Up Warriors is a slightly upgraded slam masters, so much they are still the same game. It is rare in name only and is only worth $20 more than the standard version.

Choko is a novelty because its a game within a game that you must already know how to play, basically this is a game you only get if your going for a complete collection which has appeared less often on the japanese auctions which is the only place you can get it. It can not be phoenixed if it dies also. $70-$105

Super street Fighter 2 Turbo, your price reflects the ebay craze. maybe set the low at $170 to meet somewhere in the middle

Quiz & Dragons it is a novelty only worth owning if you are trying to complete your collection. it can not be phoenixed if it dies and it does have a suicide battery. $60-$100

Vampire Hunter 2 is a hard find now days the low should be $100 and high $160

X-Men Vs. Street Fighter high should be $100

edit my opinion of cps2 price guide and prices I listed are based on just the b board being sold alone and not in a motherboard plus B board package

I'll let Prairied1ll0 and the others respond to all of your comments as they feel necessary. They are all very much appreciated as not all of us know everything there is to know about CPS.

Of course, this list is not perfect and it will be an ongoing one that will most likely be revised time and time again.

My understanding is Low price is pretty much what you'd see on KLOV, High price is the highest price we've seen it go for and anywhere in between is the going rate.

Loving the feedback so far. I'm already learning a lot. :)

I'm just glad that we have so many knowledgeable people creating this guide. Glad to see you're still alive mainman. :)

Just remember this is a guide not a bible. I would assume these to be blue or green prices. While hispanic region pcbs are usually dirty they can also be considered rarer since the pcbs were converted multiple times. This doesn't really affect price. I think grey boards get a bad rap sometimes.

So take this as a guide and take into consideration region and condition. And as stated earlier this will be an ever-changing project.

Well said! It's a guide yes and that's why there's a whole range from low to high. You can decide in between the ranges and even pay higher if you really want it. I wanted to do this for the fun of it and to also put some info out there to reduce some of the "price is right" posts we are bombarded by lately. This is a specific niche of JAMMA boards so I thought it would be pretty easy to put out. I've thought about extending it out to more classes like STV, Naomi carts and Konami 4P board but wanted to test the waters with this first.

Since there is a MVS guide, I thought that this was needed for the community. I invited guys I knew and thought knew their stuff and they invited a few others that also know their stuff.

Hope this helps!

Mainman added to the "can edit list" just now.

thanks:) btw Prairied1ll0 i have a almost complete konami 1990 era collection of their fighters, run and gunner games like simpsons, violent storm, etc

yeap I have only just once, just once come across a non converted orange board and I keep it around as a rare specimen, it real clean with a nice sticker to also

amen about how people discriminate against grey boards like they are going to catch a disease or something from them. I have never been able to sell a grey board outside of DnD2 and AVP. About 95 percent of every grey board I own get scrapped because I can not move them and i can not sell every b board with a mobo to do so.

One more VERY important thing I overlooked on the guide even though it was in red font. I don't agree the price for the cps 2 board should include a mobo. This is a vital thing I overlooked

I'm glad he's in on this. He's a valuable asset for this price guide.

I already have a huge opinion about the cps2 prices which reflect A plus B board set while I think they should only reflect just the B board. I just woke up when I opened the list and overlooked that in the guide even though it was in big red font

I personally will not give you a mobo with the B board but I will give you a phoenix board at the guide prices, only cps2 anti phoenix purest wouldn't appreciate that.

I was going to bring that up. It would be easier to set a flat rate for a-boards. Set the price guide for b-board only. Then you can just add the flat price of the a-board to the b-board price when you make your deal to purchase.

Also, add SSF2: TB to the guide. It is missing.
