i went to replace my battery in my game today check the old batt just to see what it had left in it. 3.67v i was wow ok but ill put my new one in there anyways...... i put the new battery in + to the + - to the - everything goes in just fine. put everything back together, turn it on nothing! so i start to pannic. pull the board back out. take my DVOM and check the voltage on my brand new battery from jammaboards.com and the fucking thing has NO VOLTS in the battery so i put the old battery back on and crossed my fingers but i belive it is dead........

i know i should have checked the volts in the damn thing first but shit its brand damn new i shouldn't have to..... how pissed off should i be right now that because they gave me a bad battery and it sucked the stored charge in the caps right out of them and fucked my game?????

Was the battery packaged in a bag by itself or was it loose in a package so the leads could short on something?

You can go for a short time without a battery. The caps hold the charge.

But if it's dead, You can just phoenix the romz.

the battery was packaged buy its self with a rubber band holding the leads away from eachother...... i knwo the caps would hold a charge but when i put a dead battery in there it sucked up the juice that was in the caps! i trying to look into the pheonix it just pisses me off that this happened... seems to be my luck lately
