I have two CPS-2 "B" boards that are reporting "OBJECT RAM = BAD" using razoola's suicide tester.

I have swapped out the two RAM chips at 3A and 4A, and on one board I even swapped out the LS373 at 5A. This hasn't helped the error.

Does anyone else have an idea as to what could be causing this trouble?

Thanks for your help,
Brian.

I would check what ever handles the CE OE and CS for the object RAM.

They all connect directly to the Capcom custom DL-1827 just to the right of them. :( The thought of replacing that 160 pin chip is not appealing. I was hoping there might be other suggestions. The data and address lines all appear to connect to it as well (except for the few that go to the resistor array directly above them. Which tests good). There is continuity where it should be, so there isn't a broken trace on any of the lines from the RAM.

I have some acid damaged boards that I can harvest that chip from, but I have no idea if it is any good.

Thanks for the guidance, though.

Brian.
