CPS-2 A board - How to remove original Capcom bolt?

:edit: the title should read CPS-2 B board

So, I'm proud to report that after causing my SF Alpha board to suicide while replacing the battery, I successfully swapped 3 out of 3 batteries without incident.

...and then I got to my Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers board. The bolt at the top of the board seems to be unremovable. It is perfectly round on both sides. The top (game label side) has a very shallow Capcom 'C' stamped in it. The other side is perfectly flat.

I tried using some different security bits, but the metal is pretty soft and it started causing damage.

I suppose two pairs of very skinny needle nose piers might do the job, but I'm hoping somebody know the proper way to remove this bolt...without cutting or damaging it.

I also tried prying the case open as far as I could, but the keying on the board's female connectors prevent it from being removable from the case with that bolt in place.

Any ideas?

I'm pleased to announce that I am now 4 for 4 since the initial fumble with my SF Alpha board.

I drilled into the "non-C" end of that pin, with a 9/64" bit, and that end eventually broke off. The "C" end of the pin is mostly undamaged, and I will leave in its rightful home, secured with a scotch tape cover.

The battery swap went seamlessly, and the board fired right up.

Thanks, all, for the help!
