I bought a willis CPO a while back that had a visible fold line or 'kink' in it. I got it cheap, so I was happy. I applied it this morning thinking I could iron the kink out, but it's still there. I assume it's due to the adhesive drying between the paper and the cpo where the kink line was. I used heat, burnishing, poked tiny holes, etc. Do I have to live with it or is there something I can do?

I'm gonna post more on my Wild Western resto soon, but I got an nos overlay that had a bad crease in the center about 3" long. It also did not stick all that well on the edges where it wraps around.
So I cut 2 strips of about 1" x 3" fiberboard. I wanted something very flat, with no grain that may damage the overlay. For the edges, I put a strip on top and underside of the panel with the edge of panel about 1" under the strips. I used 2 C clamps to hold it in place near the outer edges of the panel. Then over the next week I used a vice-grip to clamp along the center area between the C clamps a couple inches at a time each day (leaving it in the same spot for at least a full day) until I was completely across the edge of the panel. That solved the edge bubbling completely. For the crease, I just moved the wood to the center of the panel and C clamped it on. The crease was near a joystick hole so I could used the vice-grips in that area as well.. Where it could not reach, I used a deeper C clamp. Left it on for a few days and it was gone when it was all taken off.
