CPO's and Fag Burns. Hideous Scars or Badges of Honor??

Scars that need to be removed. I think Defender CPs are the ones I've always seen burnt/melted the most.

On a few of my restorations, including my current MP resto, in lieu of getting a nice new repro, I have left the old CPO intact, so long as the condition was decent, and the wear was minimal. Everytime I have done this though, there have been ciggy burns on the original overlays in various spots. Does anyone besides me actually like them and feel they are part of the game's history?
I'll leave a decent original CPO on over a perfect repro any day. Nothing against repro, but none of these games were perfect when I was in the arcade either, so I don't mind the "gently used" look. In fact, to borrow a phrase from Chris(insert random numbers here), my "restores" are all windex and art for that exact reason.

DKs are by far the worst and I have threatened to pull my machine from my bar the next time I catch someone smoking while playing it. As far as replacing the CPO, I usually leave it unless is it in really bad shape or part of it is cracked and missing. I think it's kind of neat when my nieces and nephews can't believe that there was actually smoking allowed in the old arcades.

dk's usually are pretty clean. Check out a robotron, defender or stargate..

Never mind, I thought this was a gay branding thread...

I think that in a lot of cases, cpos with cig burns should be replaced. Unless the burns are very minor, or new cpos are rare or expensive, of course.
