I have a Gauntlet 1 machine. The control panel has two overlays on it. The original and on top of that a Gauntlet 2 CPO. My question is can you remove a CPO without damaging the one below it. Has anyone ever tried this? I don't want to have to buy a new Gauntlet 1 CPO just to put on top of the Gauntlet 2 CPO which is on top of a Gauntlet 1 CPO. That makes no sense. o_O

Any ideas?

I had a Arkanoid converted Sinistar, and the Arkanoid CPO it just peeled off when I tore it from the edges. It was already torn in some places, so I guess it was a bit easier. If you can't really peel it off, I guess you could try the heat gun technique, although I can't tell you if it can only take off the first layer as I have not tried this before.
Good luck!

Well .. you could use goo gone by getting it between the layers. I would use a hair dryer to get it loosened up just be careful not to get the bottom layer.

Seems to me that when they get stacked like that, they tend to crack easier. So my perspective is that it will need to come of regardless. So just do it.

I can definitely see how it could crack easier by being stacked up.

So, Goo Gone and a hair dryer is the recommendation?

I have an SF cpo that is on pretty good. Used a heavy duty heat gun to take the vinyl off but it chipped and didnt come off clean. Tons of glue was on it. I sprayed the crap out of it with Goof off and I scrapped the heavy stuff off with a putty knife.

What a pain.

I did the exact same thing on one of my Gauntlet panels and with a bunch of time and goo gone I took it off with a soft rag and my fingers. G1 panel looks like new underneath. I guess that's the beauty of having a sequel come out so soon after the original as the G2 protects the G1.
