I'm almost done with my first cap kit on this k7300, I got my kit from Amusements Plus Inc.
On the list they sent with the cap kit for the K7300 it says the kit is for 19k7301 and 19k7302. All the caps I've replaced so far have been correct values however they list C389 as a 3300uf @35v or 50v and the original one on my chassis is a 1000uf 35v, I'm afraid to put the 3300uf in unless I here from some of you experts that this is correct.

2nd issue C825 100uf @ 16V......where the heck is this thing, I can't find it anywhere on the board.

3rd issue: I know I should check D805 Zener Diode (7.5v) for a shorted condition. Could someone explain exactly how I do this with a DMM? Do I have to remove it from the board to test?

Thanks

I'm hoping this cap kit along with the new flyback from Chad will stop my monitor from cutting off all the time.

I also have in my notes that C389 is 1000µf35V....and I do not have a C825 in my notes. My notes were for a 7302.

Is it ALWAYS safe to replace a cap with a higher Voltage as long as the value is correct?

Specifically C340 which is the ONLY cap not included in my cap kit is a 100uf@25v, I have a extra 100uf@35v I could put in it's place.

Next question, I've done the cap kit and flyback but haven't tried the monitor yet, should I also be replacing the Voltage regulator and HOT I always here so much about?

The original problem was the monitor would work fine for a few minutes then go black, if I turned it off for a while it would come on again but then go black again. Finally it didn't come on at all but there was neck glow.

Should I just try it with cap and flyback first?

If the HOT or VR test bad, then replace them. if they don't, leave them alone.

Be very thorough in your cold solder inspection...

Hoooray, it's ALIVE. At first the screen was black and I thought oh'crap, then I turned up the flyback and all is well. So either the cap kit or flyback or both got it workin' again, thanks for the help.

As for the 3300uf cap I mentioned in the first post, this is a quote from the supplier"This is an upgraded value capacitor and will be fine", personally I didn't chance it and put in the 1000uf.
