So I have always enjoyed games old and new alike but I specialize more in the older games and some in the PC based hardware, but Sega games games from the 2000's were always unique and used their Naomi hardware. There are 3 games of that era i would like to one day own, but I've always wondered about reliability and what to look out for. I'm mostly interested in House Of The Dead, Brave Firefighters, and Airline Pilots. My biggest question I can think of is can Brave Fighfighters run off of any rear projection tv? I've seen several of them with random TVs stuffed in them and I have always wondered.

P.S. if you have a lead on any of these, please let me know.

Brave Firefighters runs on Hikaru, not Naomi. Hikaru is much more powerful and produces better visuals. It is also not known for reliability. If the board is subjected to rough handling the BGAs will lift from the board, with no real hope of repair. They can be repaired, but it is not a cheap repair (unless you can do it yourself, obviously)

Both Naomi and Hikaru can be connected to any monitor with a VGA connection.

The original House of the Dead is on the Model 2 hardware. House of the Dead 2 is Noami and the 3rd installment is on the Chiro....... Sadly the 4th installment which came out in 2005, i don't know the hardware and the museum doesn't list it either.

Model 2 Hardware is pretty reliable if provided proper ventilation, I would say the same for the Noami system too. This is just from personal experience though, I have no factual data on that. I have no experience with the Chiro system, but its architecture is similar to that of the original xbox.
