Hey guys, Im gonna build a Mortal Kombat Super gun, Control panel with everything inside basically.

So heres what I need:

Size of the MK control panel, Widthxheightxdepth etc. (I would buy an overlay as well)

Size of MK PCB, and if MK2/3 is different that size as well. (and do you think they could fit in the control panel?)

Basically I cant plug an MK into a 6 button jamma cabinet because the layout, and im dying to have this game, I have all the parts to make this so I think its what i wanna do. Thanks for all the help!

28 1/4" x 14". With the slope its about 6" deep from the front and increases to about 8" in the back. Those are outside dimensions so inside will be considerably smaller.

the MKII main PCB is a little bigger than MK, and I think the sound PCB's are about the same. The only way you "might" be able to mount both inside is to stack them using standoffs, but even that would probably be a pretty tight fit. Keep in mind you'd have 2 PCB's of different size, 2 sound PCB's, power supply, video signal controller and so on, on top of your controls and a shitload of wiring. I wouldnt get my hopes set on 2 boards in there personally.

ah nah I didnt want two in there at a time, I was thinking maybe one and I could hinge the top of the panel to switch them.
I was asking the size of the pcb to see if I could make the box hold one. I know how much room the wiring and buttons take up so yea.

Also, the size of the umk3 is different as well? i think if anything those 3 would be the only ones in and out of there.

What is the panel made out of (like 1/4inch plywood or what not), can you snap some inside pictures if possible? or know where I can find some.

the entire control panel is made up of 3/4" wood.

UMK3 was the largest single board of all the MK games (MK4 was the smallest, for trivia purposes)

I had the same exact idea you have now last year, so unless you want to make a base extension in the back, I wouldn't even think of mounting the games inside.

one of my neighbors was pitching an entertainment center last year and I grabbed all the shelves and mounted them all together with the games attached with shims. I intended on using it with a 6-in-1 switcher and some JAMMA extensions, but it never materialized.

that's probably your best bet. the audio amplifier heatsinks were the biggest pain in the ass to work around as they are all relatively tall, maybe I could cut notches/holes in the shelves and I could make it a lower profile application that could maybe fit in my 33" showcase someday. :)

yea im thinking lets not put the boards inside, I think Ill put everything inside except the boards so that if I wanna bring it to a friends its a simple as bring the control panel, boards and an s video cable. Thanks for the help guys
