I'm not sure that this is the most appropriate place to post this, so please guide me in the right direction if need be.
This eBay user has gotten my attention before by burning an old ROMhack of mine for UMK3 "Revision 1.3 beta", slapping some labels on chips that *appear* aged, and claming it was a midway beta release.
Now he's used a hex editor and slapped some minty labels on UG12 and UJ12, and hocking a MK2 board for $1000, claiming it's from the basement at Midway in Chicago:
THIS MORTAL KOMBAT 2 PCB IS REVISION 5.1. YES THAT IS CORRECT 5.1. BOARD SET HAD MATCHING SERIAL NUMBERS. CONDITION: 100% WORKING ORDER. INCLUDES: MAIN BOARD, SOUND BOARD, RIBBON CABLE AND SOUND BOARD POWER WIRE.

crazy how those 30+ year old labels are a much less faded white than the other chip labels.
This guy is a registered user on this board as well, same name as his ebay tag, hasn't been active since July, and his post history seems to be only for buying and selling stuff, the latter at bloated prices it seems.
I've reported this listing to eBay. not sure what else we can do.
