i've had many daydreams of that scenario when i've been sitting around bored at work. my fantasy, opening a sweet old school theater. playing good old stuff during the day (original star wars trilogy, jaws, aliens, the godfather, etc) and at night having midnight showings of extreme or obscure horror movies (cannibal holocaust, i spit on your grave). and have an epic room in the lobby with hundreds of mint restored games.

Here's the same thread from a while back: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=100639

My answer is the same:

I'd commission a software company and current amusement company to create "900 Degrees" the sequel to 720. It'd have 3D graphics similar to Tony Hawk, but still the same angled perspective as the original. The set up would be the same: Skate City sessions with Parks in between, but the parks would be updated to be like the events in the X-Games: The super long ramp single jump tricks - the high air competition - etc.

The cabinet would be the exact same shape, same controller, still a boom box design on the marquee overlay, but it would look like a mounted MP3 player in the center of two speakers.

And it'd have another awesome soundtrack.

I'd create 100 units and give one each to the members of the 720 registry.

Fun to dream!

Now that would be just way to cool

Funspot would no longer be the largest classic arcade. :D

Sweet...go play Lotto and I'll wait by the door for my 900!!! ;)

I'd rebuild this bowling alley from my childhood that was built in 1960 and demolished in 1999. It would have a complete arcade filled with games from Golden Age to Present and a full well-paid staff to maintain them. Disco Bowling Night every night! :D

I'd build an arcade museum on the west coast and set a bunch of deals in motion to ensure the museum would eventually house/own as many of the rarities and prototypes as possible. Sure I would also build myself a ridiculous collection and dedicated arcade but I would be more concerned with protecting the future of these games for generations to come.

I once worked a short contract at BlueShift in Palo Alto CA. Most of them were the original Atari arcade team that created 720. 2/3's of the principles of that team have left but what you are dreaming could be created actually.... You could even bring back a few of the original team to build this game.

I would probably revive a local small theater and turn it into a sort of family fun center with a small screen digital theater, food services, massive arcade w/ a redemption center. (jumpy room?)

Yeah, I would move to a house with a bigger lot and place a big ass building out back a la Luna City. Although it would be a lot bigger than a 6 car garage. In my dream, I would build a 3 level building that would house my classic car collection on the first floor. The upper 2 floors would be one big floor with 20-30 foot ceilings. The inside of this room would be made to look like your typical 80s mall with a big mezzanine running through the middle. There would be separate store bay entrances just like you see in a mall. I would have an entrance to a Gold Mine, a Star Port, a Time Out, and maybe some other famous arcade brand. All of these arcades would have their own entrances, but be interconnected. I would also have an entrance to what looks like a typical mall restaurant, and that would be my sports bar. I would also have a cinema like entrance into the "home" theater and a slot for my workshop/test bench, one for an office, one for a gym, and one for a fun center with 2 bowling lanes and pool tables, etc. I wonder if you could do all of that with 10-20 mill? :)
