Okay, so help me with something that's probably obvious. My Return of the Jedi worked, but would sometimes throw garbage on the screen. It would go away when the PCB was wiggled, so I decided to clean the legs and reseat all of my chips. I did so VERY carefully and am 100% sure I did not break anything and everything was seated properly. I also repaired the edge connector with one of Bob Roberts' kits. There is no corrosion or any junk of the board. When I reattached everything, I lost the ability to coin up with my coin mechs, my test switch no longer works (and it did before), and the credit switch doesn't work. Then, I reflowed my solder on my edge connector, reseated everything AGAIN...and I'm still getting the same thing. What am I missing? I fixed the garbage on the screen and it doesn't change when I wiggle the PCB anymore...so at least I've got that going for me. >:/

sounds like which ever harness goes to the coin door is disconnected or not seated properly, i'd check the pins and make sure they're making contact.

That's what I thought, but the harness that goes to the coin door, and the one that goes to the test switch/credit button are separate. Additionally, I'm getting power to the coin reject button lights and I tested that I was getting the correct 6.3V to the coin door...which I am. I've checked the contacts at edge connector and they all seem to be good...and each of the coin up switches, test switch, and credit button are all separate wires, so it would be odd to me that they could all be lacking contact, especially since my attract mode is running flawlessly. I'm still looking through the schematics to find a common denominator, but very little of it is making much sense other than the colors of the wires. Ugh...

Good idea. I was thinking the same thing, which is why I pulled and reseated everything a second time. Nothing looked bent taking it out, but I'm still having the same problem. I also tried to just connect the two wires for the coin switch with an extra wire, trying to close the circuit, but I still couldn't get it to coin up. It's just weird to me that all of this could go out at once. It seems like either a molex connector (but I've got power to my coin door, so I know the coin door molex is good) or the edge connector (but I've got power to my board and proper signal going out to my monitor). Err.....

Stupid me...fixed it. Didn't have a problem before replacing/repairing the edge connector and did thereafter. Thus the problem had to be in my soldering. Reflowed and added some more solder, extended the burnt connector repair wires, and voila, good to go. Thanks for the suggestions guys. Now, I just need to figure out how I lost sound in my left speaker!
