Could a damaged 052x0131-001a Horiz Driver Transformer be my problem?

I have a WG U2000 and couldn't get power to the monitor. I put in a new flyback and was in the process of recapping when I noticed a small transformer/coil with " 052x0131-001a" and the word "CORE" written on top and appears to be blown out on one side. Was this my original problem? If so, where could I order one that wouldn't take 2 weeks to get here?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have seen those break a winding before, but you can't judge it by the casing. you should have continuity between the two legs on one side, and between the two legs on the other side - if I recall correctly. Can't get to a U2000 at the moment. You may need a ring tester to be sure.

If you can clearly see a wire separation between the windings and a leg. then you can try to reattach it, although mine broke so close that i could never find the end.

I've always had to rob one from a parts chassis when i needed one...

Tested for continuity and got absolutely nothing with any combination of the four leads. Would this have kept the monitor from powering on at all?

Yes.

I may not have time tonight, but by tomorrow I can test one that's good to see what readings you should get...

Well I found a "052x0131-001" to replace the "052x0131-001a" that blew and everything seemed to be working. One thing that bothers me...I shut it down for about 30 minutes and when I fired it back up to show a friend, the monitor seemed to flip out, tint and bright going crazy and a little horizontal flicker. After fiddling with the control board, I noticed this only happened when my bright was turned up to normal, so I turned the bright down on the flyback and turned it back up on the board to compensate. Or maybe just needed to warm up? I don't remember this particular monitor needing to warm up.

Should I worry about something else failing?

OK, I haven't been able to reproduce the problem again and the game is running great. Thanks for all the help
