Stern 2007 Spider-man. I am vry green to my 2 new Pins, but not to arcades, so be gentle with the responses. Today I took off the glass and figured how to raise the playfield but i want to make sure I did it correctly and safely. Does it simply rest on the top portion with the translite ? It seemed fairly easy but I don't want to do anything to the integrity of the cabinet. The machine is all working and looks good, but very dirty from the rubbers dust. I have never repaired/replaced anything on pinballs. Is there any secrets to replacing rubbers ? I don't want to learn after making a mistake. Thanks in Advance.

No real trick to changing the rubbers. Although if you are doing a more complicated section make sure to take a few pictures before starting.

It sounds like you are raising it up correctly, but I'd suggest removing the pinballs first.

Actually there is a secret. If they're stamped with the producers name (Pinball life white rubbers, I'm looking at you...) make sure the stamped part is on the rear or that the ring rotates to the inside when you put it on. Those stupid little letters pick up dirt from the ball and get visible and annoying, IMO. :)
