How do I fix this? Is there some control on a K7000 to correct pincushion?

not really. Between tweaking the holds (sometimes you have to have one on the edge of rolling) , 50/60 pot, and width, you can usually either adjust it off screen or get it close enough to the edge to be not as noticable.

has it been caped and the fly replaced.

caps can cause this issue on a K7000.

also is it a 19" chassis on a 25" tube by chance.

Just a thought but if you found an old tv with the same specs for the flyback couldn't you use it?

can't be a K7000a they do not have that type of remote adjustment board.

I capped this chassis a two years ago. It was my first cap kit. The monitor didn't work afterwards, I thought I made a mistake somewhere even though I couldn't find it. It just displayed a black (lit) screen like the video was unplugged. I recently moved the chassis to this k7000 tube I got for free. The original monitor was a 25" K7000 too.

Here is what the chassis looked like on the original tube before it died (and I capped it)

It definitely needed to be capped:

anode wire looks to be two and pretty pink . that is a indication of a 7000A from the limited picture I see. anyway hope Im wrong then you can swap in a flyback.

eh who knows we will not know till the mystery is reviled with a pic of the chassis.

other wise yea it needed a cap kit badly from the other pics of the caps and screen.

i would check the caps to see if you have a wrong value in there that would cause issues like you are having.

and if you have an ESR and capacitance meter i would test the caps for fun to see if they are still in working order.

I have another cap kit from Bob so I could replace them all again. I have checked the board over about 100 times two years ago, so I know all the values are right. Do you think it is possible that I got a bad cap or it went bad sitting on the shelf for 2 years?

I am thinking that I might have not replaced the cap on the neck board. I will replace that one.

Here is a pre-cap kit photo:

looks like a k7000a to me as well. that big block that you have your fingers on is a dead give away.

ok you win K7000a

i don't think not replacing the neck board cap would affect it but i cannot say for sure.

if you have not ran it in two years the caps could have dried up who knows.
