When I bought my Addams Family last month the bubble level vial was missing. Didn't think much of it but when I actually got it up and running I realized that the ball eject was too strong and throwing the ball right against the side of the cabinet into the bubble vial, which obviously broke it sometime ago.

Right off the bat I figured that the old operator swapped that coil with an incorrect value, not the case. Checked with the manual, the coil installed is correct

Is this a common issue? Any way to fix this without buying a new weaker coil?

I say it can't hurt to try a weaker coil, even if yours is "correct" ....my Addams upper flipper was way too strong, and it was the right coil....it would often cause the ball to come back down the ramp cuz the strength made it ricochet at the curve. I put one 'level' weaker and, for my game, it's perfect.

Seems like that's my only option, I didn't think there was another solution but wanted to ask just in case. Would be nice to keep the game original though.

Installed a new bubble level vial but had to slide some rubber on it to keep it from getting smashed.

The kicker that kicks the ball to the shooter lane. Look at it and see where it contacts the ball. You can gently bend it off center left or right, to give the ball more of a glancing hit than a direct hit.

That will weaken it some. Just be sure after any adjustments that the kicker doesn't come in contact with the arm of the last switch in the trough.
LTG :)

You know, I never thought of that. My kicker must be hitting dead center and transferring all energy to sending that ball directly out, doesn't even glance against the playfield to slow it down.

Will give that a try, thanks!

Such a simple fix but it just didn't occur to me.

Thanks LTG, gave the kicker a slight bend and the balls are fed out properly. Was able to remove the rubber rings that were protecting the bubble level vial, looks much better.
