Cool story from old skating rink

I talked to my buddy who also loves the old roller rink and he agreed if the owner needs any help to get it up and running, he would pitch in and help. Awesome!! :)

My brother in law just re-opened up a roller rink that had been closed for a number of years and actually was turned into a thirft shop at one point. The roller rink had been around for like 30-40 years....

A lot of the original stuff was no longer there, but he figured he needed to update the interior and have it used more for roller hockey and roller derby. So that's what he did, put hockey boards in, new changing rooms, etc... but he still has public roller skating as well.

Here is a link to his place now:

That place looks like a nice place and I can see why it gets business. I was at an old rink near here for a niece's birthday party a couple years ago, and honestly it was pretty scary. It was like a bad flashback, like one of those weird dreams where you recognize the place, but everything is creepy. :)

And I do think that roller hockey and roller derby are are gaining ground and could keep some of these old rinks open. However, it took a lot of money to get it to where your bro in law got it!
