I bought this old tube radio at a garage sale for $5. Its an RCA Radiola III regenerative tube radio, introduced in 1924. Its missing the tubes that stick out of that oval hole on the face. I wonder if it would work if I had those....

Anyway, its a cool addition to the weirdness of my emergency booth. The cord is frayed on the end, making this weird looking device "out of order". I just wiped the first layer of dust off and left the rest of the dirt and rust. Fits in better that way.

I just whipped up a simple mounting bracket so I can slide the radio in and out without damaging it. The box is mahogany, and the face is bakelite. I'll remove it easily when I finish the booth backdrop(flyers).

Here's an informative link:

The rest of the pics are on my photobucket link in my signature(Lost Highway Emergency Line album).

that booth is funky and cool and wow! you going to use that theater speaker instead of the drive in one? both are nice. if you can find tubes for that radio on the cheap/free i'd say it's worth trying to fire it up.... (maybe)

The drive-in movie speakers(mounted on the poles) are hooked up and working. The movie theater speakers(the big gray ones) work, and I am in the process of figuring out the best way to mount those. They will be on the other side of my arcade, but hooked up to the same CD player as the drive-in speakers.

Thanks for the comments. I love this stuff!

that is awesome. are you turning the 'cool addition' threads into a weekly thing? if so, bring on the cool!

Seems I've been finding a lot of things lately to add to my arcade. They all seem to "fit" nicely so I gotta go for it!

I've got a couple more things I will be adding soon, so yes it IS a weekly thing! lol

This by far is the most unique, creepy arcade I have ever had the pleasure to see pics of. This arcade is also the most responsible for the Hell-ish nightmares I have, especially when I dream that i'm running away in slow motion from his zombified fast moving "masked pilots" lol :D

Then I have done my job! Uh, sorry about the nightmares, man....lol
