Converting Punch Out!! to Super Punch Out!! process?

I have seen the big $$$'s that Super Punch Out!! boards can demand in the past. Although I am not willing to plop hundreds of dollars to get a SPO board, I was wondering if it is possible to convert a standard Punch Out!! PCB to an SPO by burning your own ROMs and replacing them on the PCB. Is this possible or are they different boardsets, etc? I would like to have a SPO without having to demolish my wallet's contents.

Don't forget the joysticks are different too. SPO has a "pull up" function to allow you to duck during gameplay; PO doesn't. No idea how common those things are nowadays...

SPO uses a daughterboard in addition to different Eproms and proms.
