converting edge connector from DECO to Jamma. couple of questions..

since i couldnt find an adaptor to put the jamma board into the dataeast (deco) harness, i just decided to pull the pins (read: break the deco connector) and insert the wires into their correct placement on the jamma edge connector. but i have a few questions.
  1. All of the ground wires on the DECO harness were tied into the area where the power wires were (the first 4 slots like on the jamma connector). Can i just keep them there or do i need to use E/27 and/or F/28 on the Jamma connector? i think the control panel was one of the things on the jamma harness that was grounded in the E/F areas..
  2. The deco harness has a -5V. no big deal, i can just not connect that wire - but the two +12V were tied together and only on one side of the Deco connector. But the Jamma harness has two +12v. do i need to make a jumper or run an additional +12v from the power supply or nothing else is needed?
  3. Video ground.. on the deco harness, it was tied with all of the other grounds (in the first 4 slots). do i need to run a specific wire to the Video GND slot 14?
  4. Coin lights, which slot do they go to?
  5. test or service switch? a wire goes to the unmarked button inside the coin door.. I am guessing this is the test switch? right?
thanks in advance... i am 99% there, just need these few extra questions answered, then i will throw a working junk board in there to test with.

btt.. someone's gotta have some info on this? i think i am okay with the control grounds, but does the video ground need to go in Slot 14? and what about the +12V?

i'd like to fire this up today.

Typically JAMMA video GND is not the same as logic GND so you might need to isolate it. Many games might still work using logic GND as video GND though. Only way to tell is to try.

+12 on one pin of the JAMMA connector is fine.

Coin door lights can go to the other +12 pin but you will need to make sure that you have 12 volt bulbs in the door. Or you can wire the lights to +5.

Your going to find that some JAMMA boards will not work right without -5. You might want to find a way to add -5 to the edge connector.

You dont need to provide GND to the other side of the JAMMA connector (pins 28 and such) but it wouldnt hurt to have them there.

well, i am gonna put a 48-in-1 in the machine, so i will just make sure to wire it like my double dragon is wired so that i know it will work.

thanks
