Hi guys

I am trying to convert my 25" chassis to a 19" for a Q*Bert cab. (The screen is too faded so I am trying to utilize the chassis if poss.)

Firstly, is it true that this can be done, secondly does anyone have a comparison chart or procedure please?

Thank you

:)

Why not leave it a 25".. I always thought qbert would look awesome on a 25in monitor:cool:

Have you tried to rejuventate the 25" tube? It might bring it back, worest case is that it can't hurt to try.

I will keep the tube, and rejuv it one day.

I just bumped q*bert up the list, so since the 2 chassis are virtually the same except a few parts, I thought I'd ask this question

if you are trying to convert a standard-res 55xx to a standard-res 49xx - it MIGHT be possible. You won't be able to change the resolutions, as the linearity coil needs to be changed and you most likely won't find one. I'd have to look at my notes from when I researched this way back when to see if you'd need to change it on the standard-res versions, too.

I know the 55xx has the small board on the left wall with the linearity coil underneath, and the 4900 doesn't. Not sure if the linearity coil matches the one that normally goes on the 4900 chassis....

After your post Mod, I called Jomac.

He confirmed a Med res Wg5515 chassis can not be modified to be used on a Std res 19" tube

He suggested I use a Uni chassis, and do some kind of sync mod for the pos sync, so q*bert will run on it.

Thanks for the reply Mod
